Note added (6 August 2004): If you require a visa to visit the US, and have not begun the process of getting it long ago, it is probably hopeless at this point.

Visas may be obtained from US Embassies and Consulates. Participants from certain countries, including Western Europe, will be able to arrange this by telephone. Participants from other countries will need to interview in person at the US embassy or consulate. For this purpose, we can provide invited speakers (or other participants known to a committee member) with a formal invitation on letterhead, if they request one by writing to dsfd2004@listproc.tufts.edu

In addition, if you tell us the date/time/location of your appointment for a visa interview at a US Embassy or Consulate, we will contact the offices of our local US Congressman whose staff has agreed to intervene on behalf of participants in the 13th International Conference on Discrete Models of Fluid Dynamics.
